More Details About Our Vehicle

This rare Indy Pace Car is in excellent condition throughout, and comes complete with lots of documentation and rare extras. This car is number 37 of the 53 ElDorado pace cars that were produced for use at Indy; only 14 are known to still exist. Even fewer have the rare flag-mount bumper or both sets of flags; one set of matching yellow flags and the other a green flag (left side) & checkered flag (right side). This one has it all!

The exterior is in great condition with bright firemist white paint. The long sculpted body is highlighted by the red on white pin striping. She has all the race decals; including the "Festival Director", Indy Wings, "Official Pace Car" script, & "500" Festival logo. All decals were recently redone to judging specifications. The metal is rust and damage free. The undercarriage is rot and deterioration free. The rear parade bumper was recently re-chromed to show-quality and the front bumper is in excellent condition. All the chrome trim is in very good condition. The glass is in great shape. The original #37 stickers & Indy parking permit are still displayed on the windshield. The rear license plate holder still has the #37 marking on it & the Indiana Official "500" license plate remains. The power top is in excellent condition is are the two-piece fiberglass parade boot.

The interior is in excellent condition! She has new factory-correct sierra leather seating throughout, plus new firethorn carpet. The original dash and door panels are in like-new condition; they are a darker shade of red than the seats - just like when she was new. The 60/40 front power bench seats adjust easily. So does the tilt-telescopic steering wheel. The driver and passenger mirrors have remote adjustments. The AM/FM/8-Trac radio works, but the power antenna does not. On the passenger-side dash, there is a Indy Pace Car plaque.

The powertrain is strong. The powerful 500 CID V-8 provides plenty of power and is driven through the 3-speed automatic transmission. The front power disc brakes provide plenty of stopping power. The tires are in very good condition. She seems to float down the road thanks to her smooth suspension. The power steering makes handling near effortless. The air conditioning blows cold. The cruise control does not work.

This rare car comes with extensive documentation. She was driven in the festival parade by Ronald K. Swingley, earning the "Festival Director" decal. After the event, this car was sold by Ed Tutwiler Cadillac, Inc. to an investor in Florida. The car was once mentioned in the Fort Lauderdale News and was owned by that party until 1988. She has been kept in two other collections since then. In addition to this history, we have: the original owner's manual, original bill of sale, application for Florida "PaceCar" vanity plate, copy of the dealer window sticker, ticket to the race, promotional materials, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corp. Consent & Liability Release, and more!
