704, that is the total number of these classics that Cadillac produced one by one by hand over two years. The pinnacle of 50’s Cadillac engineering and design, these cars cost more than Bentleys or Roll Royce cars of their day. The Brougham included luxury features standard that were revolutionary for their time. This included 6-way power seats with memory, power door locks, power windows (including the vent wings), and automatic dimming headlights. Some of the features were so new that they were prone to issues, especially the air ride suspension. Broughams were recalled, fixing their suspension issue by converting them to traditional coil springs and shocks. This Brougham shows it was converted using original factory-spec parts, which is rare.
This example retains is factory colors. The interior is believed to be original. This is a show driver, nearly a concours example and is the nicest of nearly a dozen Broughams we have seen. The power memory seats work correctly along with the gauges, radio, power windows, remote trunk and more. The tri-power engine roars to life with just the right sound and she smoothly shifts between gears. The entire A/C system was just restored making the ride even more comfortable on those hot summer nights.
There are some flaws. For example, the replacement exhaust did not incorporate the wrapped steel flex tubing and was not ported through the bumper. We have the parts to correct this and the expertise to perfect this already great car - if you seek perfection. As is, we believe this is the nicest example on the market today.
Lest we forget, yes, this Brougham comes with vanities!
